Snokist Farm is a "one woman" operation. I raise my Pygmy, Pygora & Angora Goats, and my Angora Rabbits for fun and fiber. I not only use the fibers I produce to create my yarns, but also other fibers produced by members of my local Fiber Guild, as well as exotic fibers from around the world. Spinning is my true passion. A bulky yarn, this skein was spun from Natural Brown Cormo and Natural White Merino Wools. I plied the wools with a black polyester thread, adding coils and beehives to the white Merino as I plied. This is an extemely soft yarn with a very elegant look. There are two skeins available
This sparkly yarn was spun from a lightly heathered ivory Shetland Wool. I wrapped it with black, red and metallic gold thread and added in sections of shreadded zig-zag cut red metallic foil.

Sometimes I like to take a bunch of different wools and tease them into a big box and then spin from handfulls taken right out of the box. This yarn is a result of one of my wool teasing frenzies. It is spun from mostly Merino Wool with a little Border Leicester and Correidale, spun thick and thin, then plied with a neon yellow nylon cord. Small sections of coiled areas were added frequently throughout the yarn. This is such a lively and colorful yarn, it will have you singing as you knit it! It measures 42 yards, enough to do a scarf, and 4.1 ounces, so it is very super bulky at 6-7wpi.
There are a multitude of colors in this yarn spun from Super Wash Merino and Border Leicester Locks in Orange, Emerald Green, Sky Blue, Fushia, Natural White and Soft Pink. I plied this wool with a bright lusterous Multi-toned Nylon Cord and ramdomly wrapped and rewrapped sections of the cord colors onto the wool. This a bulky yarn with bumps and slubs. There are two skeins available, each weighing 5.2 oz and 65 yards. Yarn is super bulky at 7wpi.
Okay, I'm tired of winter and ready for nice warm spring weather!!! To help me get through these last few weeks of winter, I spun this bring and sunny Art Yarn. On my drum carder I combined Sunny Yellow, Golden Ochre, and Olive Green wools with some cut up sections of commercial novelty yarns. Then I added in some teased sections of Tangerine Mohair Locks. Wild, crazy, fun and soft enough for a scarf.

I got the idea for this yarn after purchasing a bag of old lace at a flea market. I remembered the play "Arsenic and Old Lace" that my high school did when I was much younger and remembered how my girlfriend was transformed into this little old lady. So I had this picture in my head of an old lady in a suit with a pillbox hat with the veil attached. I had to give it some yellowish tones because that is the color I think of when I think of arsenic. I cut and layed out all my goodies to put into this yarn in a random, yet methodical manner, then attached each one onto the yellow mohair thread that would end up as my wrap around thread on the lightly heathered ivory Shetland Wool. I have added in bit and pieces of old lace, gold metallic trim, recyled mink mini muffs, some pea green rayon fabic clusters, and some netting from an old hat. I also randomly added in some darker carded wool sections. This turned into a big project and a big yarn, enough to do an entire shawl, which was really what I was aiming for.

I recently flew halfway across the country to vist OFFF, the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival. While there, I picked up some Recylced Sari Silk, and this is how Black Mamba began. I wanted to spin the silk with a wild, untamed look and I think I succeeded. I wanted those bright colors in the silk to "pop", so I plied it with some Natural Black Alpaca. But I just couldn't stop there! While spinning the Alpaca, I added in sections of Turquoise Corriedale Wool (which I coiled into beehives while plying), and also some sections of Curly Blond Doll Hair. Yes, I'm sorry to say this is all that is left of the little blond doll, after Black Mamba ate her up!

I can't help but spin yarns like this. My fiber friends raise their eyebrows, but oh well. When I saw these eye beads and beaks, I thought about Jimmy Buffet and his Parrot Head followers and thought "I've got to shred up some Parrot Heads and make a yarn from them. Actually, no Parrot Heads were harmed in the making of this yarn, I'm just menopausal and this sh.. happens in my head. Okay, made from Super Wash Merino Wool in Scarlett and Fushia, with Little Girls hair bands in assorted colors, joined together in various lengths, poking out from the yarn. And of course, the parrot eyes and beaks with colorful dyed chicken feathers attached.
This is an all natural yarn. It contains 75% Natural White Romney Wool combined with 25% Chocolate French Angora Rabbit Wool from my Handsome Buck, Mocha. I carded these two fibers together, spun them into a two ply, then pounded the yarn to full it, which gives it a very nice halo. Soft and warm.
This yarn was spun from Mohair Locks, sheared from my Angora Goat, Louise, who lives right here at Snokist Farm. The locks were hand dyed Purple & Brilliant Blue. I plied the Mohair with a Bright Multi-colored Mylar thread giving it a spiral effect and intensifying the curly effect of the locks. Not a large skein, but will work perfectly for an accent yarn.
A bulky yarn, this skein started with a core yarn of 100% Cotton in Pastel Colors. I lightly wrapped the cotton in a veil of Mohair, then plyed this it with a Pink Nylon & Glitz yarn, and a Multi-toned Pastel Polyester Eyelash yarn. Extremely soft!
More of Louise's Mohair Fiber, this yarn was spun from Hand Dyed Locks in Brilliant Blue, Rose, Golden Yellow & Mint Green. I plyed these Mohair Locks with a pretty Multi-colored Metallic Thread giving it a spiral effect and intensifying the curly effect of the locks.
A fun and funky yarn that will definately get you noticed. This skein started with a core yarn of 100% Wool in a Lavender Color. I lightly wrapped the wool in a coil of White Tussah Silk, then plyed this it with a Fushia Nylon Cord with random triangular pieces of Plum Felt. I also added sections of Wild Rose colored Mohair locks to the mix.
A Soft & Loopy yarn, spun from 100% Wool. This is a Handspun Boucle' style yarn in shades of Blues & Browns. The Boucle' effect was achieved by twice plying with black cotton machine embroidery thread.

A bulky yarn, this skein was spun from a Multi-toned Blue Handpainted Wool. I added in sections of Yellow & Peach Handpainted Wool at regular intervals. The Wool is plyed with a Bright Multi-toned Turquoise Blue Nylon Cord. Plenty of coils and beehives have been added into the Yellow & Peach Painted sections which adds lots of texture and interest.

The ultimate in unique yarns, this skein was spun from Pink & Lilac bulky spun wool, then plied with alternating lengths of Satiny Polester Ribbon in Burgandy, Peach, Salmon, Green, White, Slate Blue & Pink, assorted types of Cotton and Poly White Lace, and even some sections of Pink Sequin Edging. This yarn abounds with feminine charm!
