I hand crocheted this hat using one of my unique and very bulky handspun yarns. The first ply in this yarn was spun from sections of Natural White, Black Dyed and Handpainted Corriedale Wool. The second ply is a Natural White Merino that I loosely wrapped with Natural Silver Grey Yearling Mohair. The Mohair gives this hat a very "Hairy" look and there are areas where Mohair locks curl out from the yarn. I have photographed the hat with the brim curled, but you can wear it uncurled or the hat can be shaped into more of a Robin Hood style with the back and sides folded higher and the front straight. I hand crocheted this pretty blue shawl from 75% Royal Blue Wool and 25% Rainbow dyed Mohair. The Mohair was lightly blended into the wool so that you can see minute flecks of all the colors spaced throughout. The fringe is made out of a Magenta Shaggy Fringed Polyester/Cotton Ribbon and a Multicolored Wool & Mohair Novelty Yarn. This shawl goes very well with denim, as you can see in the photos. As I make 2 ply yarns, I usually end up with more on one bobbin than the other. So I save up these smaller sections of handspun yarn until I have enough that will coordinate together, then I start playing with a design to use them in. Using the retro style of the Granny Square, I linked these unique yarns together with a yarn made of Natural Chocolate Brown So Soft Cormo Wool, which I wrapped with Chestnut French Angora Rabbit Fiber and plied with Shiny Camel Colored Rayon. All the squares are 100% Wool, except for two which are Deep Natural Brown Alpaca. The edging is a two ply of Shiny Camel Rayon and a Copper Colored Polyester Novelty Yarn.
